Our Work

Action for Ability Development and Inclusion (AADI) started in 1978, as a small centre for children with cerebral palsy, is today an established national level organization working towards the inclusion of people across disability. 

Current focus:

  • Knowledge Management and Resource Centre: Web based and mobile platform providing access to information and knowledge resources for all impairments and rights of persons with disabilities
  • Institute of Ability Development and Inclusion: An institution to research and design capacity building processes for law and policy makers, disabled people, civil society, existing professionals from the fields of education, health, mental health, human resource, law and architecture.
  • Ability Development and Inclusive Communities, Opportunities, Resources and Services: A Delhi-NCR based program for early identification of disabled people in vulnerable circumstances, sensitizing and capacity building resources for health, habilitation and rehabilitation, education, art, culture, transport, livelihoods and independent living.

As a leader in the Disability sector, AADI

  • Provided opportunities for education to more than 3000 children. Facilitated mainstream education for more than 1000 children.
  • Made significant contributions to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (2016)
  • Conducted nationwide research in collaboration with UNESCO and suggested recommendations in the area of inclusive education (2018)
  • Ensured accessibility in the National Elections (2019).
  • Participated in WHO research on the impact of Covid 19 pandemic on lives of people with disabilities.
